What are the business stationery rules?

A company is legally required to have certain information printed on all its documents in legible letters displayed at the company’s premises. These should be:

  • Name
  • Place of registration
  • Registered number
  • Registered Office Address
  • Is it being wind up

The company must also state its name in legible letters on the following:

  • Company’s business letters,
  • Order forms,
  • Notices and official publications,
  • Bills of exchange,
  • Promissory notes,
  • Endorsements,
  • Cheques and orders for money,
  • Bills of parcels,
  • Invoices,
  • Receipts and letters of credit,
  • Websites.
