What is the certificate of incorporation?

The certificate is a document produced by Companies House and authenticated by the registrar's official seal. It is proof that the company has been validly registered in England and Wales in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.

The certificate of incorporation will state the name and registered number of the company, the type of company, whether limited by shares or by guarantee and the country in which the registered office is situated.
